Department of Information Science and Engineering was established in 2001, with an intake of 60 students. The Dept is accredited by National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi for 3 years and Affiliated to (VTU) Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, Karnataka. The department has well equipped classrooms and computer laboratories with high-end systems. The Department has highly qualified faculty with good teaching experience.

"SOFTWARE TEST DESIGN TECHNIQUES - FEB 11-12, 2013" - Two- Day Workshop Report

Department of ISE conducted workshop on 11th & 12th Feb 2013. This two day workshop introduces and explains the fundamental principles and practices of software test design techniques based on the body of knowledge of the software testing professionals. A combination of lecture, interactive discussion, and classroom exercises are used to build an understanding of the test design techniques and documentation with various examples. The workshop has covered the theory and programming concepts in Software Testing laboratory as prescribed by the VTU for 6th semester students and Design, Test & Documentation of test cases with the project work of 8th semester students.

The department is conducting Seminars/ Conferences and workshops from time to time for the faculty and students. It is the endeavor of the department to fill the gap in skills between curriculum and industry requirement by conducting following program in recent and past.

• The Department regularly organizes Seminars and workshops for staff and students to keep abreast with the latest IT.
• The Department had organized 2nd National Conference on Emerging Trends in Information Technology March 2011.

The Department carries out various Industry-Institute interaction events for the benefit of the students. Some of the events are: The Department conducts various technical talks in collaboration with various companies.
