The department was started in academic year 2009-10 with the intake of 60.

The department uses instruction techniques that are tuned for outcome-based education in a progressive way to improve the quality of the Graduate Engineer comparable to international standards.

Organize a good quality education in the field of telecommunication engineering, develop academic's atmosphere, laboratories utilization, to develop the curriculum according to graduate's user's expected competencies.

• To develop themselves in the field of telecommunications and information technology, have working attitude
• Be a good people in society, through institutional development, infrastructure, and resources.

• To organize and participate in technical, sports, and cultural events.
• Provide soft skill training.

The department has been timely conducted guest lectures for the benefit of the students and the student gain the knowledge of the recent trends in the industry

I. Conducted Guest lecture on "State of art technologies for RF and microwave circuits" by D Packiaraj, member senior research staff, CRL, BEL Bangalore on 31st Mar 2012

II. Conducted Guest lecture on "Image processing and Neural Networks" by Mr. Siddalingappa Valache, Director (CAL), ETDC,Bangalore on 10^th Sep 2011.

III. Conducted Guest lecture on "Embedded systems: Selection of Microcontroller" by Mrs. Rekha, Scientist, CRL,BEL,Bangalore on 2^nd April 2011.

IV. Conducted Guest lecture on "Application Of Microcontroller in reent Technologies" by Mr. Shashidhar, Technical Leader, EFFENT Technologies, Bangalore on 30th Oct 2010.

The department has organized parents Meet to encourage interaction between parents and teachers and to discuss the performance their ward on 30^th march 2011.
