About the Department
Department of Science and Humanities was established in the year 2001. Students of I and II semester of every year belong to this Department.
Department of Chemistry has VTU recognized R and D Centre. Research activities are going on in the field of Catalysis, Kinetics, Nano Catalysts and their Applications, Corrosion Science, Polymers Science.
Department of Science and Humanities conducts Guest Lectures by inviting Speakers from well known Research Centers and Institutions like IISc, JNCU, RRI, Bangalore University and Post Doctoral fellows from Foreign Universities for students so that they get advanced Information in the field of Science and Technology.
Department of Science and Humanities has creative science activity centre for students called "Science Club" which inspires the students in writing essays, science articles and participating in quiz programme. The Department organizes Industrial visit for students so that they can connect Theory and Practical.
The faculty of the Department are sincerely dedicated to achieve better results.

To provide value based education and mould the character of younger generation through Science to inculcate discipline and perseverance in students through methodological teaching with the aim of making best citizen. .
Vision
Our Vision is to offer the best for the society by imparting high quality education to stimulate in the students a spirit of inquiry and desire to gain knowledge and skills that can enrich their lives in future.

Conference and Work shop Conducted in 2010
Department of Science and Humanities organized three day Lecture workshop on Nano Sciences and Nano Technologies for teachers and Students and Nano mela, April 28 - 30 th 2010.It was sponsored by Indian Academy of Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research,Bangalore.
