DBGI boosts of housing the HR Department headed by Harshita Das who tirelessly
works for the welfare of the staff and students. This Department provides various
facilities to the staff and students to help them achieve the highest scholarly levels
and prepare them for positions of leadership and lives of service in many fields of
human endeavor. The HRD department undertakes various activities such as
placement assistance, career counseling, Higher education counseling, organizing
training and development programs, grievance cell, HR library maintenance,
induction and orientation programs, industry interaction, recruitment etc.
The industry today demands that all the students graduating from a college are employable. The placement department needs to understand this and mould them during their tenure at the college. Human values and concepts must be imbibed into them. There is a need to train, counsel and motivate them and this can only be achieved by adopting the concept of introducing HR policies through the HRD Department in the College.
DBIT has signed MOU with Infosys technologies for the campus connect
program and with caritor for the Adept Program. These programmes are
designed to train the students and faculty in the latest technological areas of
software and bridge the gap between academia and industry.
The HR Department took the initiative to set up the VTU training and
placement extension center. It was Inaugurated by former Vice-Chancellor of
VTU, Belgaum, Dr. K. Balaveera Reddy.
Placement Cell
The Placement cell was instated with a vision to excel and to create a global
opportunity for every student and ensure that his/her skills are properly
identified and that students are oriented in the right direction. Placements
have been initiated right from the first batch. Since then the department has
been successful in inviting reputed companies every year for the selection of
the deserving students. 100% opportunity is provided for the eligible
students. This year the department has started online placement assistance
to students.
Process for placement
The placement center establishes contact with various industries to find out their requirement of man power and invites them for conducting campus recruitment process. The students of final and pre final year who satisfy the eligibility criteria attend the selection process comprising of aptitude test, psychometric test, Group Discussion, Technical interview and HR interview.
Infrastructure for placement
The Center headed by the HR manager with industrial background consists of a modern office, Interviews rooms, Group Discussions rooms and Waiting Hall and is coming up with a state –of -the-art Seminar hall for PPT (Pre Placement Talk). The placement centre also provides students with training and resources to equip them with the necessary skills to face the test and interview for their dream job. |
