Department of Master of Business Administration was established in 2004, with an intake of 60. The department has since then built on its base of highly accomplished faculty and motivated students to emerge as one of the premier institutes for management education and research promoting managerial excellence.

A feature that sets apart from other B-schools is the carefully selected mix of students with diversity as a stated objective so that students can leverage from each other's experience in addition to theoretical studies in the classroom, thereby creating a truly enriching learning experience.

As the global business scenario gets increasingly complex and dynamic, the Department prepares students to manage and lead in such dynamic business situations by providing a diverse and challenging environment where the students can learn and grow and finally walk out with full preparedness to lead and inspire.

Launched in 2004, the Dept. of Management studies at Don Bosco Institute of Technology offers Masters in Business administration (MBA) which follows the curriculum offered by Visveshwaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum and is affiliated to All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Departmental Future Plans

We are exploring opportunities to collaborate with Foreign universities and National universities (self paced learning) to have a wider scope of knowledge for our students.

We have plans to have separate departments for HR, Finance and Marketing, with departmental libraries.
Proposed student intake to be increased to 120.

Business club to encourage Entrepreneurial development.

We hope to launch a Journal with updates about the department shortly.

We plan to host an International Conference during March 2013.

The DBIT, Department of Management studies & Research proudly presents "PROTHSAAHAN" an intercollegiate management fest which will be held on 22nd March 2013.The events are planned to have a fine blend of fun and work, which creates a new mindest for the participants to relate the practical exposure, they will acquire from the event to the theory in their curriculum.

• One day National level Seminar on `Role of Economics in Societal Change' in technical collaboration with ISEC was held on November 2nd 2009.
• One day National level Seminar on "Emerging Issues in International Business" was held on May 14th 2010 at our campus.
• Three day work shop on 'Entrepreneurship Awareness and Development Programme' jointly organized, in association with 'EDP' cell, VTU, Belgaum and DBIT, every year.
• We also organized a seminar on 'Entrepreneurship Development and Financial Assistance to Budding Entrepreneur's jointly with KSFC on March 4th 2011.
• Three day International Conference on " India INC. Innovative Management Strategies" Jointly organized by Don Bosco Institute of Bio-Science and Management Studies and Don Bosco Institute of Technology, Department of Management Studies. On 5th, 6th and 7th January 2012.
• Three guest lectures were organized in a semester these lectures were delivered by eminent personality from industry, research organization as well as academia.
• A National Level Management Fest was conducted under the banner 'PROTHSAHAN'and this is annual recurring activity.
• Department forum F.A.I.M.E- " Federal Academy of Indian Managers and Entrepreneurs" .
• Fresher's the college conducts Induction programme to familiarize the college rules and regulation.

Ms. Prema Latha K P student of 4th Semester MBA,has got Second prize in National level Student paper presentation on "Contemporary Management Issues" held at JSS Academy Of Technical Education(JSSATE) on 18th April 2013.

The college has a separate Training and Placement Cell, under full-fledged Training and Placement manager. The cell also acts as a coordinator for the Industrial Training and Placement of pre-final and final year students. This cell arranges soft skill programme about 50 hours in a semester for all semesters.

The Training and Placement Cell also guides and helps the final year students in securing jobs commensurate with their knowledge and achievements, by organizing campus interviews, pool campus activities and exploring various avenues for their placement. The cell extends all possible help and provides all available infrastructural facilities to the organizations and their representatives conducting campus interviews in the college campus.
