About the Department
Mr. H R Ananth, Manager - Placements and Training, brings with him 30 years of rich Industrial and Academic Experience in several areas of Mechanical and Human Resources Development having worked for organizations include Kenna Metal Widia, as Senior Technical Assistant, Cyberstar Infocom Pvt. Ltd, Park Controls as H R Manager, M S Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies and REVA Institute of Technology and Management as Manager - Placements and Training.
Infrastructure Facility
The Office of PAT consists of a modern office, interviews rooms, GD rooms, and waiting hall, besides three spacious seminar halls. It also provides students with several training resources, such as books and short videos, to help them be equipped with the necessary skills to successfully face the written tests and interview for their dream job.
Process of Placement
PAT establishes contact with various organizations across several industries to determine their requirement of man power and invites them to conduct on-campus recruitment drives at DBIT. Final year students, who fulfill eligibility criteria as defined by recruiting organizations, attend their selection process usually comprising of an aptitude test, Group Discussion, Technical interview and HR interview.
Industry Interface
DBIT has signed MOUs with Infosys Technologies for the Campus Connect Program and with Caritor for the Adept Program. These programmes are designed to train the students and faculty in latest technological areas of software and bridge the gap between academia and industry.
The VTU Training and Placement Extension Center was inaugurated by former Vice-Chancellor of VTU, Belgaum, Dr. K. Balaveera Reddy.
Placements were initiated right from the first batch, the Class of 2005. Since then, the department has been successful in inviting reputed companies every year for the selection of deserving students. 100% opportunity is provided for all eligible students.
Activites
The department provides various facilities to faculty, staff and students to help them achieve high levels of performance. It prepares students for challenging positions in the industry, including fostering leadership qualities in them, regardless of the industry they choose to work in. It provides complete placement assistance, career counseling, and higher education counseling, and organizes year-round training and development programs for all students. It also organizes induction and orientation programs for new students, besides the Open Day that seeks to expose prospective engineering students to the myriad opportunities present in various engineering streams.
Fully aware that the industry of today demands that all graduating students be employable from the day they leave college, the Office of PAT has taken upon itself to mould them well during their tenure at the college. To this extent, students are trained in various aspects of soft skills, people skills, and behavioural skills so that can excel in their personal and professional lives no matter which part of the world they work in, no matter what type of organization they work for. Attendance in these training sessions is mandatory because we believe that only when you do can you actually learn. The philosophy at PAT is Learn More. Do More. Achieve More.
