MANAGEMENT FEST -2011
Wednesday 23rd March
The word Prothsaahan derives its meaning from Devanagiri which means “Encouragement”. The institute provides the best opportunity for all management students to showcase their skills in management through intercollegiate management fest Prothsaahan-2011.
It is the perfect interface of industry & education sector. This fest concentrates on uplifting our culture by naming the fest as well as events in Sanskrit.
The various events which will be conducted are;
- Samshodhana – Product Launch
- Koushalya – Ad-copy design
- Medhavi – Business quiz
- Subhasha – Marketing event
- Chanakya – Finance event
- Sambhandha – HR event
- Shringarika – corporate fashion show
- Samartha – Best manager
We hope all the students will have a wonderful time by being a part of this fest and making it a grand success. Approximately, around forty colleges with eight students each are likely to participate, from all corners of Karnataka. Further, around ten sponsors are likely to exhibit their products/services in this mega get together.
Event details:
1. SAMSHODHANA– (Product Launch):
The debut of a product into the market. The product launch signifies the point at which consumers first have access to a new product.
Rules for PRODUCT LAUNCH EVENT:
- Time Limit: 5+1 minutes.
- Team should consist of 3+1 members (only).
- Dress code is mandatory (Formals/ College uniform).
- PPT presentation is compulsory.
- Two copies (soft and hard) of the product launch should be submitted at the time of reporting.
- No vulgarity.
2. KOUSHALYA – (Ad-copy design):
Text of a print, radio, or television advertising message that aims at catching and holding the interest of the prospective buyer, and at persuading him or her to make a purchase all within a few short seconds.
Rules for AD-COPY DESIGN:
- 3 Participants per team.
- PPT should also include video, audio presentation and jingle not exceeding 40 seconds.
- Video clips should be submitted at the time of reporting.
- Time limit for presentation is 5+1 minutes.
- No vulgarity
3. MEDHAVI – (Business quiz):
A Business quiz is a form of game or mind sport in which the players (as individuals or in teams) attempt to answer questions correctly. A quiz is also a brief assessment used in education and similar fields to measure growth in knowledge, abilities and/or skills.
Rules for BUSINESS QUIZ:
- Two members per team.
- Team will be short listed based on written test (preliminary round)
- Detailed rules will be announced prior to each round.
4. MARKETING EVENT (Subhasha):
Designing or developing a 'live' themed activity, occasion, display, or exhibit (such as a sporting event, music festival, fair, or concert) to promote a product, cause, or organization. Also called event creation.
RULES for MARKETING EVENT:
- 3 members per team
- Laptop is mandatory
- Participants need to go through various rounds.
5. FINANCE EVENT (Chanakya):
A Finance event means planning, organizing, directing and controlling the financial activities such as procurement and utilization of funds of the enterprise. It includes each and every aspect of financial activity in a business.
Rules for FINANCE EVENT
- 2 Members per team.
- Participants need to go through various rounds.
6. HR EVENT (Sambandha):
Human Resource Events is the organizational function that deals with issues related to people such as compensation, hiring, performance management, organization development, safety, wellness, benefits, employee motivation, communication, administration, and training.
Rules for HR EVENT:
- 3 members per team.
- There would be three rounds; one of the rounds will be collage.
7. CORPORATE FASHION SHOW (Shringarika):
The Work wear and Corporate Clothing Show is the perfect event for reaching an international market.
Rules for CORPORATE FASHION SHOW
- 8+2 members per team.
- 5+1 members participants should bring their music CD (2 copies) of their choice and submit it during the reporting time.
- Materials required for the contest must be brought by the contestants themselves.
- 2+1 helpers are only allowed with the participants.
8. BEST MANAGER (Samartha):
A best manager is the person responsible for planning and directing the work of a group of individuals, monitoring their work, and taking corrective action when necessary. For many people, this is their first step into a management career.
Rules for BEST MANAGER:
- Individual Event
- Profile of the participant has to be submitted on or before 22nd March 2011 by 3pm.
- Laptop is mandatory
General rules/ information:
Max 15 members per team and Max 2 teams per college.
Participation fee for overall events is Rs 500 per team, per event is Rs 150 , payable in cash or DD ( DD in the name of Principal DBIT, Bangalore) only.
- Entry fees once paid will not be refunded.
- Only Management Students are allowed to participate.
- Registration commences on 17th march at 10am and closes on 23rd march 8am. (registration desk operates from 10am to 4.30pm on all 5 days)
- College identity cards are mandatory.
- Participants must report at Sharp 8am on 23rd march at the venue.
- Decision taken by the judges and organizers are final and binding.
- Any team that deviates from the rules will be disqualified.
- Prizes will be distributed only in the valedictory function.
- Dress code- college uniform/formals.
- The organizers will ensure that the identity of the college is not revealed to the judges. The participants are also expected to ensure the same.
- Teams should refrain from smoking, drugs and alcohol consumption and misbehaving in the college premises.
- The organizers are not responsible for any loss or belonging of the participants.
- All participants should strictly adhere to the time schedule and rules of the entire event.
