 Improving the quality of education is not just increasing the number of passes or the number of first classes.Bringing in “Innovative thinking” or “Innovation” as an essential attribute of the graduates produced by the system of education, is the only way to improve the quality of education and be competitive in world market. To achieve this goal, Don Bosco Institute of Technology has created a position of the Director (R & D), who along with a group of well qualified and experienced Professors facilitate the development of an aptitude for “Innovation” through research in the minds of the students and the faculty. Many Heads of industries and the NASSACOM have been expressing the view that the system of education needs to address the issue. The “Learning Atmosphere” is promoted as a “built in” mechanism. The system of evaluation must be such that there are interesting challenges to the community of learners (both faculty and students) in the process of learning. Obviously, the resources such as the infrastructure, equipment, library and the faculty must be adequate in quality and quantity. The management has been focusing on all these issues and the quality of education provided in this institution will meet the world class standards.
